Where To Eat Crawfish Right Now

Where To Eat Crawfish Right Now

We did the research so that you don't have to!

Craving crawfish? We’ve got you covered all season long! Beginning March 1st through May 31st, Hungry's will have “Crawfish on the Patio” specials every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at both of our Hungry’s locations in Rice and Memorial as well as at NextDoor bar and lounge. From 4 p.m. onward, you can purchase crawfish, boiled and seasoned, for $7 per pound, complete with potatoes and corn on the cob -- while it lasts.Swing by your nearest Hungry’s to enjoy the patio with great crawfish and happy hour drink specials all night on a variety of Texas-local draft beer for $4.

What started out as a modest Asian-Cajun joint inside 99 Ranch Market has exploded into a full-blown empire complete with things like crawfish pho, crawfish po-boys, and cheesy crawfish rolls. Do those, but also get the critters hot from the bag and soaked in garlic butter, Cajun seasoning, or sweet & sour sauce.

Boil House is all about authentic Louisiana mudbugs. Tucked away in the historic Heights neighborhood, the small restaurant offers little more than a friendly place to sit down for a bountiful bucket of crawfish. That being said, you’ll also find Cajun classics like homemade sausage, Boudin empanadas, and jalapeno pecan pies on the menu.

Head to Chinatown for some of the best pairings of Cajun and Vietnamese crawfish dishes. Just off Bellaire Boulevard, this local favorite offers one of the spiciest crawfish boils in town. Try the fried soft shell crab and seafood noodles for an alternate to the mudbugs. During crawfish season, the restaurant can be very crowded, be sure to call ahead for reservations if in doubt.

This place has a little bit of everything. Sushi, turkey necks (seasoned better than your grandma’s), traditional Vietnamese food and of course boiled seafood. The open atmosphere makes for a great time with a large group of friends. They have some of the best crawfish because they use their secret garlic butter recipe. It’s not like any other place I’ve tried and the garlic butter is pretty much is on everything that’s boiled!

Formerly known as the Shady Tavern, this somewhat shabby Heights restaurant is owned by Louisiana natives who know the secret to great crawfish starts with a proper soak and thoroughly seasoning the boil. The results speak for themselves in crawfish that have a lip-tingling spice in every tail and deliver a jolt of flavor in the heads. Non-crawfish eaters will find a lot to like here, too, thanks to some of the best po-boys and gumbo in the city.

Despite the name, this crawfish joint in the Hong Kong Mall hasn't served beignets in years. Still, the traditional Cajun style crawfish — none of that newfangled garlic butter here — packs a substantial punch. Besides, the thrill of discovery accompanies any trip to the mall.

Locals love this place because of their namesake 88 spicy sauce. If you have time to spare, this is worth checking out. Its rather small inside so it can fill up quickly. Totally worth the wait!

If you're in a more festive mood, you're in luck. There are a couple of crawfish festivals going on around town this spring.
